Chapter 6 - Boys Will Be Boys
We definitely have a group of masculine men in our class. Jeff loves to work outside, cut trees, run chainsaws, mow, work cattle, etc. He even does the whole "manly grunting" thing once he's all dirty and sweaty. It's great, no really - aren't you glad your husbands are manly? What are some "manly" things your husbands do that you can appreciate and encourage?

Chapter 5 - Touching the Heart of Your Tender Warrior
It is easy to get so comfortable with the strength our husbands bring to our marriages and the safety and protection they provide that we sometimes forget they need reassurance, too. I think it is even easier to forget how hurtful our words can be, though. We really do have to be careful with the power our words have. Try the Relationship Builder idea this week, use words to build up your husband!

Chapter 4 - The Great Masculine Adventure
I think losing respect for our husbands is one tool Satan uses to drive a wedge in our marriages. Often, a lack of respect is really an attitude of superiority on our part. One way to guard against this is to remember that God created and gifted our husbands. That alone makes him worthy of respect. Then, it's also good to remember those things about our husbands that made us fall in love with him in the first place.

Chapter 3 - Praying for Your Husband
I think everyone can see how important it is to pray for our husbands but when we're hurting emotionally it isn't always easy. Sometimes it's hard to know what to pray! I have the book, "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian, and would definitely recommend it. I'll bring it Sunday if you'd like to preview it.

Chapter 2 - The Submission Mission
Yikes - the "submit" word. That word alone often sparks conflicting feelings within individuals and groups. How do some of you deal with I Peter 3:1-2?

Chapter 1 - Even a Great Husband Makes a Poor God
There were so many things in this chapter that were meaningful to me, that I think are foundationally important, and that I needed to be reminded of again - I'm not even sure which ones to highlight. What about you guys? Did anything in this chapter speak to you?

Capture His Heart - Introduction
By now, most of you have probably received your books and are ready to get started! Although the "official" blog study begins Monday with chapter 1 - there is an introduction we can start right now!
In the introduction we are reminded that the "little things" that make us feel loved, valued, respected, appreciated, etc, really do make an impact. Unfortunately, the little things we do that send a negative message also make an impact. Being purposeful in sending positive messages is a great first step in our study.
Does anyone have any other ideas on how to complete the Relationship Builder on p. 15? Share about some of your experiences - What little things does your husband do that sends a loving message? What things do you purposefully do (or could do) to send that message?
Have fun being thoughtful and generous to your husband the next couple of days (or longer!) And don't look for anything in return, just enjoy his joy at receiving these positive messages!

Welcome to the Girls' Study Blog!
The books have been ordered and should be arriving at each of your houses any day! They are being mailed directly to your address so there will be no delay passing them out-yeah! With the blog now in place, we're ready to begin as soon as the books are delivered. I'm really excited about having an on-going study that will let us share thoughts, ask questions, and support each other through the week!
Each week I will post a short opening remark for the chapter we are studying, then you can expand the discussion by using the comment section. The more people respond the better it will be for everyone - so be sure to join in on our "book chat".
On Wednesday, January 28 at 6:30 we're planning to meet at Sara Rice's to study, snack and have some fun! We'll plan future get-togethers then.
