Chapter 4 - The Great Masculine Adventure

I think losing respect for our husbands is one tool Satan uses to drive a wedge in our marriages. Often, a lack of respect is really an attitude of superiority on our part. One way to guard against this is to remember that God created and gifted our husbands. That alone makes him worthy of respect. Then, it's also good to remember those things about our husbands that made us fall in love with him in the first place.

  1. Our husbands are worthy of respect. Many of us in class are very strong, independent women. I know I am, so it is a challenge for me to give things over and realize God has gifted our husbands as leaders. They just need a little encouragement to reach their full potential and that is why God created us. We are our husbands help-mates and I love that. It is so important to Tully that I reassure him as a leader, a husband, a father, a son, etc. that he is good at all of these things. It makes him a little better at all of those things because he is more confident and knows that I support him.

  2. I TOTALLY agree with you there Tara! What a great post! Our husbands NEED and deserve that unconditional respect! They aren't perfect and they are going to mess up too, but it is still important that we show them that we are behind them in all circumstances! I really need to work on that! Wyatt is so worthy of my unconditional prayer, love and respect! Isn't it awesome that God specifically chose our husbands just for us! He know what we needed even before we did!

  3. Loved this chapter. It's easy to see what's wrong in others especially those that are close to us. I love what the author shares when talking about Adam and Eve. What a great challenge. It's really been on my heart to be sure that I'm doing all I can to help Dana become all God intended. Encouragement and respect are not always my first thought, but I am working on it. I agree with Christina. What an amazing thought that like God created Eve for Adam, He chose me for Dana. I'd hate to disappoint him. :)
